Violence and Harassment Laws

Protection against acts of violence and harassment of the most vulnerable categories of people making up a society remains a key governmental focus worldwide.

The South African government has as one of its critical strategic focuses, the protection of vulnerable categories and classes of people whether by virtue of age, disability, gender, ethnicity, or status

Two key acts focusing specifically against violence and harassment are the Domestic Violence Act and the Protection from Harassment Act both of which Acts are far-reaching and together providing a protective covering for a large spectrum of people.
